George106 Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Hi guys, I have bought galaxy last week and I noticed there is cover under engine missing. I found one on the ebay however I am not sure about it's compatibility with my galaxy. Could anyone confirm whether engine cover from MK1 Sharan/Galaxy/Alhambra would fit MK2 galaxy? If not what part number should I look for? ThanksGeorge Quote
seatkid Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) Dont know the answer (but I would have thought so) but I would stress it is important for safety reasons to have the undertray fitted on the diesel models - The undertray prevents water from the road soaking the PAS belt with resulting loss of power steering assistance. (Brown pants time). Same thing for the front towing eye cover which should be fitted at all times. I'm not sure but I dont think petrol models have or need an undertray. Scorpiorefugee Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Some simple answers... They are not all the same. I got one when mine (98 110) got smashed but it had extra cut outs which I filled with bits of the old one. They do seem to be much the same as far as general shape and easy enough to adapt if necessary. I think they are easy to get as they are too big to ship easily and most breakers are glad to get rid of them. I got mine (collect only) FOC from the same regular Ebayer who supplied the steering pump. It was a case of asking nicely but I do think he was suprised to see the back of it. At Quote
